Korean Green Tea: Ujeon, Sejak, Jungjak & Daejak
Korean green tea is traditionally classified by harvest period and leaf maturity. Ujeon is among the earliest spring pickings, followed by Sejak, while Jungjak and Daejak are harvested later and offer progressively fuller body. Korean green teas may be pan-fired or steamed depending on producer and region, creating a profile that can range from delicate and sweet to nutty, vegetal and mineral.
Korean Matcha & Fermented Tea
Korea also produces high-quality powdered green tea and distinctive fermented styles. Korean matcha reflects local terroir and production methods, while teas such as Balhyocha and Hwangcha add floral, honeyed and deeper oxidised profiles to the Korean tea tradition. For a detailed comparison, read our Korean vs Japanese Matcha guide.
